For those of you in search of the challenge of a lifetime, Vietnam won't fail to leave an indelible mark on you and will provide you with memories that will last forever.

This fantastic trip will transport you from the UK to the mystical land of Vietnam as your 13-day adventure takes you from the modern city of Hanoi out through the most rural parts of Vietnam:

ITINERARY
  • DAY 1: Depart London for Hanoi
  • DAY 2: Arrive Hanoi; afternoon exploring this wonderful city
  • DAY 3: Transfer out of city; cycle undulating roads through valleys to Mai Chau
  • DAY 4: Challenging day climbing to tea plantation village of Moc Chau
  • DAY 5: Easier day; spectacular scenery of karst cliffs and rice paddies to Son La
  • DAY 6: Through hill-tribe villages; steep climbs and long descent to Tuan Giao
  • DAY 7: Cycle through quiet, easy backroads through spectacular gorges to Dien Bien Phu
  • DAY 8: Follow Na river through lush jungle and bamboo landscapes to Lai Chau
  • DAY 9: Rolling ungraded roads to sleepy town of Tam Duong
  • DAY 10: Most spectacular scenery of trip; final climbs and long descent into Sapa

Is the trip for me?

Absolutely! The majority of people on the Vietnam Cycle won't have done anything link this before so you will all be in the same boat! Most participants will be on the trip on their own although some may come along with friends or family. You won't ever regret choosing to go on this challenge – and when else will you have the opportunity to make so many new friends in such a short space of time!!

How fit do I need to be?

You don't need to be a fitness fanatic to do this cycle ride. The majority of people who are taking part will be just like you and will not necessarily have done anything like this before. However to get maximum enjoyment from this challenge training is vital and we will provide you with a detailed training plan which we strongly recommend you stick to. We will also be on hand every step of the way to provide training advice.

Will I be able to raise the sponsorship level?

YES! Once you have started you will find that raising the minimum sponsorship is easy and most importantly fun! We will provide you with a breakdown of examples of how to raise the sponsorship money in an enjoyable way and we will of course be available every day to help you with more ideas! You are doing something quite simply amazing so make sure you tell everyone you know, and before you know it you will be racing towards your fundraising target!

Can I extend my trip?

Yes! For a nominal administration fee your flight can be extended (subject to availability) which will give you the opportunity to explore more of this fantastic country in your own time

Will you help me?

YES! One of our highly experienced trip co-ordinators will be on hand to help you throughout the months leading up to the event. You will be sent a full confirmation pack shortly after you register which will give you all the information you need but we are always here to make the event as enjoyable and hassle free as possible! And there will even be the opportunity to meet your fellow participants at a special gathering before the event!

What is the food like?

Traditional Vietnamese cuisine, which usually consists of delicious rice and noodle dishes, accompanied with fish and chicken>

What do I need to bring?

No specialist kit is required although you will need to bring your own cycle helmet and a gel saddle might be useful!

What will happen to my luggage during cycling days?

Your luggage will be transported for you by one of our support vehicles. You will just need to carry a bum bag or small daypack for any essentials like a camera and sun tan lotion.

How many people can take part?

The average group size on our overseas challenges is about 40 people although this does vary considerably depending on the trip.

What type of accommodation will I be staying in?

We stay in 2 or 3 star hotels throughout the trip – you may be required to share a room with up to 3 other people.

What's included in the cost?

All food (except 3 meals), internal travel, accommodation, 21-gear bikes, water and refreshments on cycling days, mechanics, guides, a doctor and medical support

Is there an age restriction?

You will need to be over 18 but there is no upper age limit. If you are over 65 will just need to get a medical form signed by your doctor

What about insurance?

You must have travel insurance cover in order to participate in this challenge. You can either arrange this yourself as long as your insurance company is aware of the nature of what you are doing and that it is a charity event or we can help you arrange this.
