How Fundraising Events Work

Fundraising Target

Most charity events will require you to raise a certain amount of funds to take part. This could be as little as £20 for a small local charity walk - all the way up to tens of thousands of pounds for a 3-week arctic expedition.

If you don't raise this minimum amount you may not be allowed to take part - so it's important to make sure you are confident of raising the fundraising target before you sign up to the event! The good news is that lots of help and advice is available...

Firstly there is the fundraising advice page on this site which has been collated from us running thousands of events over the past two decades. Secondly whichever charity you are participating for will have a member of staff who will be looking after you and who should be able to support you throughout your fundraising efforts.

Finally there's the doitforcharity.com Your Stories page. If all these wonderful people who have achieved so much can do it, then so can you!!
