Fundraising Ideas - Car Washing

Tim from Edinburgh raised £150 by washing cars at his local supermarket.

This can be a lucrative way of collecting sponsorship if you charge each driver to wash their car before they return from shopping.

• Find a location where you will have access to plenty of water and parked cars.  A supermarket can often be the best option.
• Begin by finding out who the best person is to speak to at the supermarket and arrange to meet them to explain what you are planning.
• Set small targets at first and that way when you exceed them you will feel even better.  Don’t tire yourself out so set yourself a limit of about 20 cars in a day.

• It can be more fun if there are a team of you and that way you can wash even more cars raising even more money.
