The ancient kingdom of Nepal is a place of fascination and discovery. Here, among the world's highest mountains, you will discover a country that is remarkable for its breathtaking Himalayan scenery, its colourful culture and quite simply some of the best trekking on earth!
Home to the Sherpa people and the site of Everest, Lhotse and Cho Oyu - three of the world's seven highest mountains - the Khumbu region of Nepal is unquestionably the best place for trekking in the Himalayas. While most of us can only dream of summiting Everest, this stunning 19-day adventure allows us to become seduced by the myths and excitement of this mighty mountain, explore the foothills and discover the vibrant region of the Sherpas.
Along the way, we will get to learn more about ancient Tibetan Buddhism from our local guides. Evidence of this devotion abounds everywhere in the Khumbu - prayer flags flutter from rooftops, stones inscribed with prayers line the trails and the sounds of Tibetan chanting can be heard resounding through the valleys. Our goal is the summit of Kala Pattar, 5,545 metres, which sits at the base of the highest mountain in the world - Everest. From here, we can enjoy spectacular views of this magnificent mountain. This trek is your chance to explore this fascinating region of extreme geography, sacred Buddhist sites and ancient history. It is nothing short of breathtaking!

We know that committing to raising £4,000 can seem like a challenge in itself but we are here to support you and with a little bit of planning and lots of enthusiasm you'll soon reach your target!
Fundraising pack
To get you started we send you a fantastic fundraising pack as soon as you register. This pack is filled with tried and tested fundraising ideas and tips to help you get the money rolling in. It also includes more information about the charity and how to set up your online sponsorship account as well as a branded charity t-shirt, sponsorship forms and information about how to order collection tins, balloons and other helpful fundraising supplies.
Information day
We will organise an information day about six months before the trek. This is your opportunity to meet the Action Medical Research team and your fellow trekkers as well as learning more about the trek and sharing fundraising ideas.
Newsletters
We will send you regular newsletters giving you help and advice with your training and fundraising. They will also include information about Nepal and the trek as well as keeping you up to date with the latest news from the charity.
